Tyee Trail Travel Tour, Mount Adams Wilderness Area—

Indian Heaven, the ice caves, and the back door to Mt. St. Helens are north of the Tyee Trail, as is Trout Lake, Washington, about the only place with lodging in the form of some very unusual B&B’s. I guess we should mention that the Gifford Pinchot National Forest roads connecting south from Washington State 12, north from Washington State 14, are not passable in the winter, except for those leading to snow-parks with exceptional cross-country skiing opportunities.
